  • Purple Rooster Organics, LLC

    Purple Rooster Organics is located just west of the town of Edinburg. We grow and sell vegetables, fruit and herbs using only organic and sustainable farming practices.  Our delicious Artisan Breads and Jazzy Granola are made using the finest ingredients – locally produced, whenever possible. Our organic skin balm is gentle enough for babies and tough enough for the worst dry and chapped skin. We sell: on farm at South Street Barn Market in Woodstock, May – October, 8am-1pm at Swover Creek Farms at All Things Virginia @ The Farmhouse online/mail order.

  • Rendezvous Farm

    Rendezvous Farm is a small 16 acre veteran owned and operated hobby farm in Basye. Our gourmet meat products include free-range pastured chicken, Cornish hens, two sizes of Pharaoh (Cortunix) quail, rabbit, and our newest addition, squab, available on a limited basis.  Live rabbit, quail and adult squab are also sold to those that who want to raise their own. Egg products include unrestricted free-range pastured brown and colored chicken eggs and two sizes of Pharaoh quail eggs (for eating or hatching.) All of our birds and animals are raised without added hormones, steroids or antibiotics.  The free-ranging meat and layer chickens have access only to land that has not been subjected to the application of herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers.  All of our products are processed on the farm. We also produce a full line of Rose Cottage toiletries on the farm that include soaps; lotions; scrubs; body, foot and lip butters, face and body washes. Additional products include small amounts of in-season vegetables and fruit grown without the use of herbicides or pesticides and fed only natural fertilizers.  This year we have added a kettle corn operation for special events and festivals.  Our corn is local non-GMO and pesticide free. This year we plan to be at Autumnfest in Woodstock, Brycefest in Basye, Edinburg Days in Edinburg, Children’s Movie Night in New Market as well as an additional festival in a neighboring county.  We also may be available for your special event or festival.

    Family orchard growing apples for Grammie’s Tart Virginia Applesauce. Applesauce available locally at Shaffers BBQ and Mowery Orchard in Woodstock; Crabil’s Meats in Toms Brook, the Edinburg Mill; Fulks Run Grocery in Fulks Run and Red Front Grocery in Harrisonburg. Also available through Sinclair Farm CSA program.

  • Swover Creek Farms

    We are a Virginia Century Farm recognized for continuous operation by the same family for over 100 years. We grow a variety of berries for u-pick. We also have a commercial kitchen and farm store selling farm-crafted sausages and other items. In 2014, we opened our taproom and farm brewery in our converted barn! Local menu items available for purchase at the brewery. Brewery hours: Thurs 3-9pm, Fri-Sat 12-8pm, Sun 12-7pm, Mon 12-6. Closed Tue-Wed.

    We are a farm style market featuring local produce, honey, and apple butter.  We have a variety of crafts as well as mulch, farm equipment, sheds, green houses, chicken coops and more.  We also sell Christmas trees and wreaths in December.  Call (540) 975-0791 for more information.

    We sell USDA inspected, individually clear freezer wrapped beef, pork and lamb. We keep it local. Our butcher, labels and marketing are all done in Shenandoah County. We are an environmentally friendly farm that believes in preservation of soil and water. Now accepting credit cards.
